Icons Series 007: Tom Simpson
The 7th limited-edition cycling art print in our Icons Series, celebrating the greatest riders of all time.
"Pull All Your Courage Together And Carry On"
Never forgotten.
Who is the greatest British male rider of all time? It says everything you need to know that despite all British cycling's recent glory the answer is still Tom Simpson.
The first British world champion, winner of Milan - San Remo, Flanders and Lombardy, all at a time when UK riders making their way in the pro cycling world did so alone, without the financing and support systems of today.
Of course, the world remembers his tragic early death on the slopes of Ventoux in 1967, driven to his own demise by his fierce will to win, the brutal heat and his amphetamine use.
But Simpson is remembered for so much more - his character, his pioneering spirit, his humour - and above all the talent that ensures that he remains the finest of British cyclists, some 55 years after his death in Provence.
This print is a numbered, limited edition of 50. Like all our artwork, it's custom printed for you in our studio on premium-quality paper stock, using archival inks that will last a lifetime.
