Fausto the heron flew into our lives back in 2013 as we launched the first Handmade Cyclist website, and he’s been part of our logo ever since.
Fausto is named after perhaps the most stylish cyclist of them all - the legendary Fausto Coppi. Perhaps best known as Il Campionissimo, Coppi was also nicknamed The Heron because of his unique build and long, long legs.
Fausto has watched over the Handmade Cyclist brand as part of our old logo ever since - so we thought it was time to really do him justice.
Our new, redesigned brand features Fausto in full flight, one eye fixed on the horizon and as powerful, timeless and stylish as the rider who inspired him.
Fausto’s a reminder to us to always strive to be the best, for all our products to look beautiful, to perform perfectly - and to do so with a certain panache.
You’ll find Fausto the heron featuring more prominently on some of our forthcoming products and apparel. He’s a link to cycling’s glorious past - but always with one eye on its future.
Forza!
