Description

The Routes: The great roads and rides of cycling. Iconic mountains, stunning scenery, the greatest challenges of the sport. The essence of some of the most iconic theatres in cycling, the roads on which the greats fought and reputations were forged.

The real star of Milan - Sanremo every year is the climactic warp-speed ascent and descent of the Poggio, the just-long-enough, just-hard-enough final climb and peregrine stoop down to the Via Roma. Easy enough for the fittest sprinters to make it over with the front group, hard enough for the likes of Fignon and Nibali to get away over the summit, it's a something for everyone climb that rewards the brave.

Most legendary climbs are harder, or longer, or steeper; but surely few can lay claim to being so consistently decisive.
