The Routes: Puy de Dôme | Cycling Art Print
Description
The Routes: The great roads and rides of cycling. Iconic mountains, stunning scenery, the greatest challenges of the sport. The essence of some of the most iconic theatres in cycling, the roads on which the greats fought and reputations were forged. Deep in the Massif Central, the climb of Puy de Dôme corkscrews its way up the slopes of an extinct volcano to the laboratory and television transmitter at its peak. In the 1964 Tour de France the famed rivalry of Jacques Anquetil and Raymond Poulidor reached its peak as the two riders battled shoulder to shoulder up its brutal slopes, each rival refusing to give way to the other.
